Stamped Fowl Play

Hi loves!

I was doing so good with posting every few days and then I got super busy and something had to give.  Sigh.

One polish I find myself grabbing for quite often is Orly Fowl Play.. there's just something about it that keeps attracting me to it.. maybe it's the purpley base, or the flakies, I don't know but I just love it!

~*~*~

Here it is stamped using Essie Nothing Else Metals and Gals GA29.  It reminded me a little bit of retro curtains which I loved -- I wore this for 5 days which never happens!

If you notice, my ring finger has a red tinge, I wanted to see what it looked like over a red base and found it didn't make a difference so I decided to skip it for the rest of my fingers lol.  To the naked eye you couldn't see a difference :)

Hope you are all having a fabulous week, thanks for reading!

Dark Mix 'n Match

Good morning & happy Friday!

I'm kind of on this mix 'n match manicure kick lately.. I just can't get enough of them!  I look at all of my polishes and can't seem to choose just one or two colours so I've just been going with it :)

This manicure started out with me really wanting to use Orly Rococo a-go-go, which I put on my middle and ring fingers.  I then chose colours that I thought would complement it well, but truth be told I'm from from really knowing what shades complement what :P

Regardless, I chose OPI Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs and put that on my pinky and added Orly Can't Be Tamed for the glitter gradient.

On my index is one of my favourite polishes from the Hunger Games collection, China Glaze Stone Cold.. it's such a gorgeous matte polish!

And to finish it off I stamped my middle and ring finger using Essie Penny Talk and Gals GA30 image plate.

Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!

Valentine Mix 'n Match

Hi all!

Here's a fun Valentine-y mix 'n match manicure that I wore over the weekend!

On my index and pinky I added two coats of the gorgeous Essie Leading Lady, then using a small dotting tool I added the hearts using Orly Glow.  My ring finger is Gosh Deep Purple and using a small dotting tool again, I placed medium sized loose glitter in the shape of a heart.  I tried to get these uniform in spacing but quickly gave up on that idea :P

On my middle finger I have Orly Glow and created (or at least tried to) heart shaped leopard print using Leading Lady and Wet 'n Wild Night Prowl as the outline for the spots.

What do you all think?  Too early to be thinking about Valentine's day? The tradition in this household is to NOT spend valentine's day together.  Okay, I'm partly kidding but it kind of is a tradition even though it's not by choice..  Chris has always been at sea and this year is no exception.  Doesn't mean I won't indulge in cute valentine-y things though :)

Bright Mix n' Match mani

Hi :)

I hope you've all had a great weekend, but that means we're back to Monday. Sigh.

Here's some fun nails that I did sometime last week.  I needed a little pick-me-up so I chose bright, happy shades and a "skittlette" manicure, made famous by the amazingly talented Marta from Chit Chat Nails -- go check her out if you don't follow her yet!

On my index and middle finger I have OPI Planks A Lot stamped with Gals GA12.  I have to say, these Gals stamping plates are SO much fun!  I absolutely love all of their designs.  On my ring finger I have OPI Fly with translucent purple-to-green shifting glequins that I bought on e-bay.  And my pinky has OPI Did it on 'Em and using saran wrap I 'sponged on' OPI Kiss Me on the Tulips.

I was so pleased with the stamping as well.  Finally!

Have a great day all, and as always, thanks for reading :)

Color Club Gradient

Hey all!

I love love love gradient manis.  They're so fast and easy but give your nails such a cool look.  I did these for C's little going away gathering and got complimented on it quite a bit.

After seeing THIS BEAUTIFUL gradient, and C telling me I should do something using sparkly pink and sparkly blue, I thought about it for a while, then the light bulb went off and I opted for a gradient.

I used Color Club Wing Fling as the base, then sponged on the tips using Color Club Sky High.  So fast, but so pretty - this is one of those manis that I couldn't stop staring at!

Also - you may have noticed a little bit of a nail shape change.  I'm not super happy about the rounded nails to be honest, but I had a corner chip off and didn't really want to take my nails down super short so I opted for a rounded nail.  Hopefully they'll grow out and I can file them to square again soon!

Feeling Green?

Hi everyone!

Ok - I know some of you hate when bloggers apologize for their absence, but I'm really, truly sorry!  C deployed on Monday for 6-7 months so the week leading up to him leaving was a little cray cray and we spent it running around and doing last minute things so I neglected my nails and hands big time.  But, now he's gone and I'm hoping to blog more often to keep me occupied.  We'll see how that goes :P

Here's a mani I was sporting quite a few weeks ago.

The accent nail is Layla Ceramic Effect in Green Galaxy, which is an awesome, awesome dark green jelly with green glitter throughout.  I also added Revlon Celestial FX and Heart of Gold FX to it, which are both super fun glitter toppers even though I had to fish for the larger pieces.

The rest of the nails are China Glaze Running in Circles (swoooooon!), stamped with one of the new BM plates in Essie No Place Like Chrome, then I added Orly Miss-Conduct to make the heart pop :)

Have a great end of week guys, thanks for reading and not giving up on my little blog during my slow time!

Revlon Selects Review: Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in Backstage

Hi all!

Something a little different today.  If you remember a few posts back I mentioned I was one of 500 chosen to review some of Revlon's new products.   So today I decided to tackle the lipstick review.  Now, I'm not one to usually review makeup, since I don't wear a whole lot of it and what I do wear is nothing super fancy.  That being said I have a serious love for lipsticks, but still typically stick to drug store brand so I can't compare anything to higher end products.

The Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipsticks come in 20 different shades.  Application was super easy, it almost felt like I was just putting lipbalm on my lips, it was smooth and shiny.  After a few minutes it kind of just settled on the lips, the glossy look disappeared and you were left with an almost but not quite matte look.

I love it!  And the wear is really good too, I put this on the instant the package arrived, ate dinner, drank some water then a few hours later got ready for bed and had to scrub it off using a sugar scrub.

I have read that some people find this product sticky, but I didn't find it sticky at all.

These are available now, I've spotted them at Wal Mart and local drug stores.

Have any of you tried the ColorStay Ultimate Suede lippies?  What were your thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

Happy New Year!

Hi loves!

Happy 2013! I hope you all had a good night last night!  Heres something from my archive folder since I'm still not home from the holidays and haven't really been painting my nails much.

For this mani I used Chine Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard topped with Claire's Silver and Gold Holo topcoat then did the halfmoon using China Glaze Smoke and Ashes.

Hope you're all having a great day today!
