Revlon Select: Revlon Natural Pink Review

Hi all!

There's the second polish that was sent to me in a Revlon Select package.  This one is from their new Nude Expressions nail polish collection, which is 8 new releases that are meant to match your skin tone.  I was sent Natural Pink which you can see below.

For this mani I applied two easy coats of Natural Pink, and you can see it's completely opaque.  I LOVE this shade.  It felt so girly and pretty and it even made me look a little tan.  To add a little sparkle I did a reverse gradient with OPI Which is Witch?

Which is Witch? is the most perfect glitter topper EVER!  It's so sparkly and full of holo goodness.  I absolutely love it :).

The wear of this polish was awesome, but I find that my body chemistry works really well with Revlon's formula - their polishes last for ever on my nails.

Have any of you purchased any of the Nude Expressions polishes?  What are your thoughts on nude polishes?  (I love nudes right now!)

*polish sent for review.

Revlon Selects: Revlon Chroma Chameleon in Topaz Swatch & Review

Hi loves

I received a surprise package in the mail the other day - more Revlon Selects goodies!  It completely made my day, to be honest :P   This beauty was one of the three things that I got (I will have more posts up later showing the other two):

Revlon Chroma Chameleon in Topaz.  These are supposed to have colour shifting chrome polishes but this one in particular didn't have too much of a shift.  In some lights it would look a bit more golden but that's as far as it went.  That's not to say I didn't love this polish though.  Revlon's wear so well on me, I can go days without chips, and this was no exception.

You can see a little bit more gold in this photo.  I loved this green though.  In the sun it's so sparkly!  On my ring finger I added a bit more sparkle by using OPI When Monkey's Fly.  I know there are a lot of issues about the taco-ing glitter but I love it regardless.  This manicure even got complimented by the receipt-checking middle aged man at Costco.  He totally made my day :)

Have you purchased any of the Chroma Chameleon polishes?

Summer Picnic

Hey loves

This is a 'from the vault' mani that I did when the weather was less than ideal - I'm so over the cold and grey weather.  Thankfully things are looking up a little bit and I feel like summer may actually get here!

All polishes used are from American Apparel, from pointer to pinkie we have Neon Yellow, Neon Green, Neon Red & Neon Orange.  Original names, huh? :)  I love these polishes though, they're so bright and cheery.

I then stamped the gingham patter with a mash plate whose number I cannot recall at the moment.  This mani reminded me of table cloths you would put out for a picnic out in the park or something :)

Gradient Nails

Happy Hump Day!

Here's a mani I wore for a night out on the town this weekend - sometimes a night out dancing with a bunch the girls is just what someone needs, and this was no exception :)  This mani got tons of compliments too.

This mani started out with me choosing two polishes and not having a single clue what I wanted to do.. and then I added a third polish and really had no idea how to combine them all into one look.  And then, lightbulb moment, gradient!  So easy and so pretty!

I started with a base of Essie Mint Candy Apple, then using a makeup sponge I sponged on Mint Candy Apple, Essie Butler Please and OPI Anti-Bleak.  I finished it off with a thin coat of Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment to add a little sparkle.

What do you all think of gradients, yay or nay?

Punk Rock Princess

Happy Saturday!

I hope everyone has some exciting plans for the weekend?  I don't, but I'm feeling like I need a slow weekend to recoup a little bit :)

This is a fun mani that I wore earlier this week.  Kind of reminded me of Avril Lavigne when she first came out, hence the punk rock princess title ;)

For this look I used Illamasqua Scorn on my ring finger.  This is such a fun polish in that it dries kind of suede like.  I added a few glittery half stripes using OPI Which is Witch?

The remainder of my fingers have Orly Purple Crush, which is really a neon like pink that I absolutely love.  Then I stamped the stars with an image from Mash-49 and Konad Black.  The only thing I'm peeved about is the insane amount of bubbling that occurred after applying my top coat.  I guess I need to thin it out a little bit.

Regardless of the bubbling, I loved wearing this mani :)

Nude & Blue

Hi loves!

I hope you all had a good Easter weekend if you celebrate.  If you don't, I hope you still enjoyed a long weekend :)

Just a quickie today - my parents (and grandparents) are coming in later today from Ontario, which is the first time in the nine years that I've lived out of province that they visit for the sake of visiting and not just dropping me off for the school year.  I still have a little bit of tidying up to do before they get here, but I'm soo excited for visitors :)

For this I started with wanting to use Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Mermaid's Tale which I used on my pinky, then just went with the blue theme.

On my ring finger I have Revlon Downtown stamped using a Mash plate and Konad White polish.  My middle and pointer fingers have OPI Skull and Glossbones with some loose glitter than I placed around the nail to frame it, then topped it off with Finger Paints Flecked.

(posting this photo because you can see some of the flakies a little bit better)

This was such a 'fresh' mani to wear!  Perfect for Spring :)

Happy Tuesday all, thanks for reading!
